"Mary Grace has been a long-time advocate of project management. In the late 1990s Mary Grace was a member of Project Management Institute’s first Certification Committee in which they restructured the examination development process to include a Certification industry standard, a Job Analysis, as the basis for creating the globally renowned PMP examination. Additionally, this Certification Committee formalized the PMP continuing education/professional development process, establishing a three-year time frame to earn 60 professional development units in order to maintain one’s PMP. Her tenure on PMI’s Certification Committee spans two terms, one of which she was chairperson of the group. Her enthusiasm and commitment to project management are readily evident through interactions. She pulled examples from her teaching experience on several occasions that contributed to the Committee’s dialogue and resolution of policies and procedures related to the Certification Progam."
